How we check this
Most hotels in the United States will not check in anyone under 21, the limit is set property by property rather than by chain, and no booking site lets you filter by it. That is the problem this site exists to solve, so the honest thing is to tell you exactly how much we actually know and where each number came from.
The check-in ages
We hold 48 properties across 4 cities: New York, Boston, London and Toronto. Every one of them is here because somebody read its minimum check-in age on a real page and recorded that page and the date. You can see the sentence and follow the link on each row.
A further 13 properties have no confirmed age. They appear only in the separate not-confirmed section and never count as an eligible result. Their pages did not state an age, or the site blocked us, so there is no age to promise you.
We do not treat a chain policy as a property policy. Marriott, Hilton and Wyndham publish no chain-wide minimum, Hyatt's corporate default of 21 is enforced by roughly two thirds of its properties regardless of what the corporate page says, and Pod's own New York locations differ from each other. Checking one property at a time is slow, and it is the only thing that works.
What we do not know
Desk hours are recorded as three separate things, not two: confirmed around the clock, a stated closing time, or unknown. 31 of 48 properties have confirmed hours. Where we do not know, the row says so rather than implying somebody will be there, because that is the difference between a bed and a locked door.
Rates are the same. 12 of 48 rows carry a price, each with the date it was observed, and rates move constantly. The rest show no number at all and send you to check the live one. The policy is the part that decides whether they take you.
We do not have dorm move-in dates. They exist only as prose on residence-life pages, with no directory, feed or dataset behind them, so the only way to collect them would be scraping thousands of sites. You pick your own dates. The university you name still decides which city we search and sorts the results by distance to your campus.
Airports and universities
Airports come from OurAirports, which is public domain and rebuilt nightly, filtered to those with scheduled service and an IATA code. University campuses come from IPEDS, the US federal directory, and from ROR, which is CC0, for everywhere else. Both are imported by a script that parses the published files directly. Nothing in that pipeline guesses, summarises or infers.
Your landing time is the one thing we ask you for rather than look up. It is printed on your boarding pass, which makes it more accurate than any schedule feed, and it means this site needs no paid data subscription to work.
The arrival times
Landing, cleared and at-a-desk are built from typical immigration and transit figures for each airport, using the slower rush hour figure when you would be clearing customs at rush hour. The airport preview shows you those numbers before you commit to them. They are averages, not a promise. Add time if you are checking a second bag or passport control is backed up.
The prices
Where we have both a rate and a researched tax rule, the headline number is the whole stay with tax and fees included, because a nightly rate that grows at checkout is the thing that catches people out. Tax rates carry the date we checked them, currently 22 Aug, and they move: Toronto's municipal accommodation tax dropped from 8.5 percent back to 6 percent on 1 August 2026. Where we have no rule, the row says tax is added at checkout instead of showing a total that is quietly missing it.
The card hold is shown separately and never added to any total, because it is a hold and it comes back.
Live availability and how this site earns
When live Booking.com availability is connected, it is shown in its own section. A property is eligible there only when Booking states a structured minimum check-in age at or below the age you selected. If Booking does not state an age, we label it unknown and ask you to call before booking. Its price is the current total Booking returned for the country you say you are booking from, so it is not directly comparable with a researched rate observed on another date.
Booking links earn a commission when a stay is completed. So do the eSIM and luggage storage links, which appear only where they answer something the page has just told you about. Those links are handled by Travelpayouts, an affiliate network, whose script rewrites them in your browser so that a booking is credited here. It costs you nothing extra and it does not change the order of the results, which is set by distance to your campus when you name one and by price when you do not.
Nothing here is a paid placement and no property has paid to appear or to rank.
Something wrong?
If a desk turned you away when we said it would not, that is the failure that matters most and we want to hear about it.
